Tamraght is a quiet Moroccan village built into the hillside,17 kms north of Agadir
overlooking the Atlantic ocean.
The people are welcoming and friendly.
The year round sunshine together with the cooling Atlantic breeze, make it an ideal
coastal holiday location.
There are three local shops within 50 metres of the house each selling basics. A new local restaurant called the 'ALLOHA' opened in 2008, and is a mere 5 minute walk away from the villa. It is recommended for its spectacular views from its dining terrace aswell as its excellent daily menu and cooking. At about £4/5 per person for three courses it offers superb value for money and a wonderful ambiance for relaxed dining. The owners may allow you to take your own alcohol if you are discreet and may add a small corkage charge but please check in advance when booking your table. In the neighbouring village of Aourir, there are more shops, a new supermarket, a bank and a Patisserie, as well as a weekly market (souk) and a number of Tagine restaurants.
The Tagines (local speciality) are prepared on site and are delicious. The Hotel Littoral and the Hotel Bab Aourir offer wider menus and will also exchange your money.
In front of the house, there are two lovely beaches that take about 10 minutes to walk down to, and slightly longer to walk back up! There is a café (Dynamic Beach) on the beach to the left , that in summer months serves good midday lunches/snacks. There is another more traditional Moroccan café near the big rock directly in front of the house, offering traditional Moroccan dishes and specialising in local fish. This is a perfect venue to watch the surfers and enjoy cooling breezes in the hot summer months. This area is known as Imourane and legend has it, that Vasco De Gama stopped off here on his area way to discovering America.
